In this project Joeri shows how he made two radiator casings from custom-sawn MDF. A radiator is often not the most attractive thing. So it's nice to hide this out of sight.
Description by Joeri
I made a radiator conversion in the living room and hall to get rid of the ugly radiators and to create a windowsill/plateau to put something on. /p>
How I made this project
I used 18mm MDF for the sides, 30mm MDF for the tops and 10mm thick MDF for the horizontal parts. The uprights consist of two parts that are connected to each other by means of a miter using glue and screws with a 90° plate on the inside. The horizontal parts are screwed to the back of the uprights and provide a sturdy whole. I attached the whole thing to the wall so that it cannot fall over. I still have the tops loose on it now. I first degreased the MDF, sanded it lightly and then primed it. Finally, I finished the conversions with two layers of paint in the color RAL9010. *I have shortened the length of the beams of the conversion in the living room slightly.
Dimensions of my DIY project
110.5 x 24.0 x 104.0 cm living room ( w x d x h)
37.4 x 18.5 x 55.0 cm hall (w x d x h)
